About

The 2024 JavaScript SEO survey ran from 5 April 2024 to 19 May 2024, and collected 301 responses. The results were published on 30 July 2024. The survey was run by Sitebulb via Typeform.

Survey Goals

This survey was created to investigate awareness of JavaScript rendering within the SEO community and confidence in investigating JavaScript SEO issues.

It should be taken as a snapshot in time about awareness of and comfort level with JavaScript SEO as a component of technical SEO.

Survey Design

The survey was designed to cover three core aspects of JavaScript SEO: 1. Understanding, 2. Investigating, 3. Auditing, with Google's documentation on JavaScript rendering as the starting point.

Survey Audience

Respondents were a mix of agency, in-house, and consultant SEOs. The survey was open to all and shared via the following channels:

  • Sitebulb customers
  • Sitebulb webinar registrants
  • Social media

  • Response vs render report (enablement and use of this functionality) - since the feature launched in November 2023, until May 2024.
  • Hints (JavaScript-related issues found by Sitebulb) - since the response vs render feature launched in November 2023, until May 2024.
