How Moving Traffic Media Increased Team Efficiency with Sitebulb Cloud
Since Moving Traffic Media upgraded from Sitebulb desktop to Sitebulb Cloud, they've significantly increased productivity and efficiency for their SEO work.
Moving Traffic Media is a performance digital marketing agency based in New York. They work with medium to large-sized businesses who are looking to generate some sort of action online - typically either a lead form submission or an e-commerce transaction.
SEO and content strategy is a primary tactic for driving these actions online, and they also provide paid marketing services (Google Ads, Bing, Amazon/Walmart, etc) and Programmatic Display services.
We spoke with co-founder and manager partner, Jon Clark, on how he and his team use Sitebulb Cloud to better service their clients.
Jon heads up a fully-remote team of 5 SEOs at Moving Traffic Media, and they are regularly running technical SEO audits and content audits for customers and potential customers. As such, a crawling tool is a vital element in their SEO tool stack.
They had been relying on a variety of solutions, ranging from the Sitebulb and Screaming Frog desktop products to the Ahrefs site audit tool - they have actually been a Sitebulb desktop customer since November 2018.
Despite loving the data and insights that they were getting from Sitebulb desktop, they were hindered by the limitations of a desktop product in a team environment.
"If multiple team leads were working on an audit or a technical issue, each had to run their own desktop crawl. This added additional complexity ensuring all settings were the same across all desktop crawls and, for large sites, computer bandwidth issues that decreased efficiency."
Moving Traffic Media upgraded their subscription to Sitebulb Cloud, and have not looked back since.
"Including myself, we have five SEO team members utilizing Sitebulb Cloud across approximately twenty primary domains. However, we also use Sitebulb extensively for competitive research as well as business development purposes. As a result, we have around 100 websites that we've run on Sitebulb Cloud so far."
Sitebulb Cloud is designed to tackle the limitations of desktop crawlers head on; it becomes the central place that all client projects can live, so the whole SEO team is able to work from data audit data.
"The most impactful change that Sitebulb Cloud provided was the ability for everyone to work from the same crawl data. In addition to this, the speed at which crawls are completed, combined with the ability to schedule crawls at regular intervals, has allowed us to be more productive AND establish a more consistent process internally."

Jon Clark - Moving Traffic Media
Moving Traffic Media are in some ways an ideal customer for Sitebulb Cloud. They already love the product and trust the data from years of experience on the desktop tool, but want to unshackle themselves from the limitations of a desktop-only product.
Sitebulb Cloud has enabled them to work much more efficiently, while at the same time provide a more consistent output to their customers.
"In terms of the impact that Sitebulb Cloud has had, I would say it is hard to quantify specifically, but I would estimate we have saved more than 20 hours in just a few short months by being able to reference the same crawl data across team members - combined with the speed at which the Sitebulb Cloud starts and completes larger crawls."

Jon Clark - Moving Traffic Media
There is of course a cost increase for Sitebulb Cloud when moving from a desktop subscription, however Moving Traffic Media found that the upgrade made complete business sense when they sat down to look at the numbers.
"We worked closely with our team members to better understand how much time and duplication of effort the separate desktop versions were actually causing. Based on those findings, we determined the cost increase still made sense. I would encourage anyone considering this path to do the same.
We have, over the past year or so, moved much of our SOPs and training materials to focus on Sitebulb. This also allowed us to audit our tool costs better to find incremental savings through fewer licenses or outright cancelling other tools. These savings helped cover a portion of the increased costs as well."
