Sitebulb Audits Usage Data

Every day, thousands of website audits are carried out by Sitebulb users. For each audit, the user needs to make various choices: how do they want to crawl the website, and what data do they want to collect?

We collect and aggregate this data (anonymized) to better understand how our customers use the software.

This usage data reveals how SEOs think about JavaScript rendering, based on their actions.

JavaScript Crawler Selection

This chart shows how Sitebulb users have chosen to crawl their websites with Sitebulb over the last four years, illustrating how the JavaScript Crawler has taken over as the dominant choice. This pattern reflects the change in attitude among SEOs towards JavaScript rendering, and how important they think it is for indexing and ranking.

Response vs Render Feature Adoption

Response vs Render has been an optional audit feature in Sitebulb since November 2023, which compares the response HTML and the rendered HTML for every page, highlighting mismatches caused by rendering. This chart shows how the adoption of this feature has increased every single month, to the point where it is now double the ratio it was at launch.

Hints Triggered in Response vs Render Report

This chart shows the results of the 'Response vs Render' checks over the period since launch, and these are the percentage of Hints that have fired in the audits run. This is possibly the most revealing data we have, as it confirms that significant rendering issues actually are being found on a regular basis.

These results are really significant, as they illustrate the change in the web landscape. JavaScript is here to stay, and if there was any doubt about this previously, I think we are well past that now. The data from Sitebulb paints its own picture: SEOs feel the impact of JavaScript is increasing and are using tools to better understand what is happening - and with very good reason, as significant issues are regularly being found.
